Importance Of Niche In SEO

The internet is filled with opportunities and also stories about those that made it. Although these stories can be very inspirational, they also point out the fact that the idea they used can no longer be implemented with the same success. This is mostly due to the high competition for the leading departments that make it impossible for a newcomer to take a slice of it.

This is why we introduce you to the idea of niche search engine optimization. For those of you which are not familiar with the concept, a niche market is a small segment that contains a specific target client base and it is usually controlled by a few or just one company. An online niche market may refer to a unique idea which there is a demand for. You can take advantage of this fact by being the first to come up with something that people would have a general interest in. Of course, this may not seem easy but with the help of some research, you can find something which interests you and which is not already saturated.

It may be a risk to try something new but if you succeed, it will be much more worth it than going with the herd and making a small part of something. You don’t need to be the only one that does it and it can be ok if someone else is already doing it as long as there is an increasing need which the existing websites can’t manage.

New websites appear each day but not all of them have success; having a good idea is rarely enough. You need to make your idea known to the public and when it comes to the internet, the best way to do this is with the help of search engines. They can provide the audience your website needs in order to grow. To get the attention of search engines you will need to create the content of your site to match specific keywords; keywords which you researched and found out that the interest of many users is not satisfied with the current offer. It is usually better to focus on a niche market than to aim for the crowded ones as soon as you are getting started. As your websites becomes more popular and you have an established client base, you will be able to evolve and take over new segments.

Tips to improve your website Search Engine Rank

One of the most challenging tasks facing someone who works in SEO is to increase the search engine ranking of your website. This is critically important because it influences the traffic flow into the website drastically.

By researching SEO strategies and working on improving the search engine rankings, then definitely your website or the product or service will reach millions of people in a single click. The concept behind this search engine optimization is the algorithms implemented by the search engines for indexing a website. Though the algorithms might differ from one search engine to other, the basic idea remains the same, i.e. SEO.

The first thing to be focused on is the Meta tags, which helps the web spiders to crawl up to your website. The META tag is basically a description tag that helps the search engines to categorize the site in the process of ranking. The usage of relevant keywords is very important, because the search engine query given by the end user must be able to find the keywords that you use in your website. So, think really hard how someone looking for your product or service would input a search.

There is also some third party software that will help to make this process of keyword optimization easier. One thing that must be noted while optimizing keywords is the fact that the focus should not be narrowed down to a single very narrow keyword. For instance, if your website is about buying and selling computers, then keywords about relevant things like keyboards, software, and other computer accessories could also be relevant enough to catch a potential viewer’s attention. Keep in mind that users are often quite vague when inputting a search for something online. There are some tools that check for damaged links in your website, and those tools can be used to repair these types of problems.

These things may be normal procedures for basic search engine optimization, but for the best results for your site’s SEO, the website needs to be promoted via the use of link building techniques. Linking popular and high-quality (meaning high PR, high traffic, or high Alexa ranks) websites to your site will likely help increase your website’s popularity tremendously.

The bottom line with SEO for your website is to utilize these tips on a large scale and you will quickly attain the maximum search engine rankings that you desire.

Tips to Create Backlinks to your Website

Promoting a business by the use of online media is a major role in a company. Promotion via the world wide web is not an easy task, nor one to be taken lightly, but rather a plan should be developed before the work is started.

The main reason for promoting the business through the website would be because of the fact that it can be accessed by millions of people across the world. Backlinks to the website are one way that you can reach a lot of people and bring a  great number of visitors to your site, which will also improve the search engine ranking as well.

The basic task in accomplishing the task of building backlinks is to find out which keywords related to the products and services of your website people search for frequently, and then utilize them in your anchor text. There are lots of tools to determine the appropriate keywords to use for your site, thereby helping in the link building process. The keywords are called niches in web jargon and each of  the major search engines can be tested against these niches.

There is a command called as link that when used in the website address indicates that the user wants to check for backlinks, so it is advisable to use this command when building backlinks to your site. The basic format is link: www.example.com.

Aside from the regular content of the website, many articles that relate to the theme of the website must be posted on other sites with a link back to the website. Be sure that the sites where you post the articles, and the articles themselves, are closely related to the genre of the website for the best SEO boost. Each link in the posts should be hyperlinked so that when users click on them, they are automatically redirected to your website.

Submitting articles to article directories can help to increase the link popularity, and there are some link building websites that offer premium accounts to increase the backlinks. These types of premium accounts are very expensive and not generally advised, though in times of extreme need, they are sometimes utilized by webmasters.

There are several social bookmarking sites (Digg, StumbleUpon, etc.) where the site visits can be drastically increased. Keep track of the backlinks strategy of your competitor so that you can make adjustments based upon the difference rate.

Finally, just remember to link to sites with good page rank and traffic, and submit regularly for relevant backlinks to ensure that your websites, and your business, will be a success.

Good Old SEO

Read any SEO company services page and you will find they promise to submit to N number of directories. Here is nice explanation of web directory term and why these directories exist:

“A web directory or link directory is a directory on the World Wide Web. It specializes in linking to other web sites and categorizing those links.

A web directory is not a search engine and does not display lists of web pages based on keywords; instead, it lists web sites by category and subcategory. Most web directory entries are also not found by web crawlers but by humans. The categorization is usually based on the whole web site rather than one page or a set of keywords, and sites are often limited to inclusion in only a few categories. Web directories often allow site owners to directly submit their site for inclusion, and have editors review submissions for fitness.”

Submitting to directories is one of the oldest and basic SEO techniques, the question is if in web 2.0 era it still works? Based on my experience and I can assure you that each and every statement on this site is backed-up with a lot of “field work”, directory submissions still work. I took a brand new site, put some initial content on it, added new article every 10 days or so and let my crew do countless submissions. Well, not really countless, around 1500 to be precise. Targeted keywords were not competitive; you cannot get results for difficult keywords based only on directories links. And voilà! In 3 month my test lab bunny site was between first SERP’s, getting 2500 visitors per month- all from organic searches. For those who are in affiliate marketing field this can be really valuable thing to do. Build a little network of sites/blogs translate them in 2-3 main languages, find 1000-2000 global monthly searches keywords related to your niche and in 2-3 month you can get hold of 10000 visitors without breaking a sweat. Keep in mind that the content of each site should be UNIQUE and readable, not spammy yadda yadda yadda.

Performing this job is really easy, but time consuming. The strength here is really in numbers, because 100 directory links won’t bring you any rating, so if you gonna do it – make a lot of submissions! Another important aspect is checking IP of directory, many of them belong to large network of directories hosted on the same IP. First of all you’ll waist you time submitting to same IP site, google doesn’t count multiple links from same IP. Second, and most important issue is having a lot of links from same IP might look like “link wheel “by search engines and this is last thing that you want them to think.

Keywords Optimization

Choosing the right keywords is one of the basic and most important optimization techniques. You can gain enormous leverage if going for right words. This process is not as easy and quick as it seems. There is serious research and some calculation needed. Luckily Google has very useful tool to facilitate this task. Best advice for new sites is not to go for those with big competition, but to aim for so-called long tail keywords. For example if your online store sells knives, you should promote your site for keywords like: kitchen knives, stainless steel knives, fixed blade knives… catch my drift? Another useful thing would be to add your city or state name for optimization. This way customer who will search for “kitchen knives in Arizona” will get to your pages.
The ratio between search results amount and monthly searches for is extremely important. Naturally you should go for those who have greater monthly volume search and fewer search results. There is no point in fighting your way up through millions of other sites for 1 keyword while you can get more visitors in shorter period of time if you target right words. This optimization will save you a lot of time and money right from the start. Check out example from real case; one of my customers is running christian jewelry store with items like rings, bracelets, crosses, crucifix, earrings and many more. While doing research for him I found perfect example that illustrates the point I try to make here:
Site optimization words
Compare the numbers for highlighted options. Christian Jewelry has pretty big competition with 22,200 monthly searches, while Christian Cross have much less competition with greater search volumes – 27,100 !
Another essential issue is keyword density. Stuffing your text repeatedly will do you no good, exactly the opposite. What SE (search engines) are looking for is natural, unique text and not something like “buy our knives, because these knives are top quality knives“. Nobody in his right mind would write something like this unless he tries to trick SE, so they will punish you for this kind of spamming.
Choosing the right Title for your page is crucial! While this is the easiest thing to do, many people make mistake by stuffing it with keywords and long description. You should choose short phrase (~5 words) that characterize what this page is about and that’s it. Don’t forget that not only SE checks your title. People don’t have patience to read wrong titles while browsing search results, so make it short and objective.

Link Building

You heard thousand times that good content is the most important thing. In theory, if your site is interesting – people will link to it naturally and you will climb in the rating. In practice, there are several problems with this statement. Let’s say you’re real estate agent from Boston and want to be found in Google organic search when potential customers are looking for “real estate Boston”. Bad news are that there are 49 million results for this keyword, the good news are that there are SEO companies that can help you with Google optimization. Think about it, you can write articles on your site about fluctuation of apartment prices, but hey, your competitors were not born yesterday and probably writing about this as you read this article. You need to have an edge over everyone else by hiring specialist who will help you to be placed on first page of most important search engines. This can be achieved by promoting your website using many techniques; one of them is link building.
On every SEO blog you’ll find scores of articles about importance of inbound links (those who point to your site from other places). The point that many people miss is that the weight and authority coefficient of links might be very different. For example you can get 1 link from PR 3 homepage and another link from PR 1 page. Since the age of three we know that 3 is greater than 1, so at first glance first link is the preferred one, however you should also take in consideration many other factors. For instance, how many other outbound links these two site have, because if there are 12 or more links on PR3 site and just 2 on PR1, then second link brings you more value. It is known trick in link exchange. You’re offered to swap links with page rank 5 site that has hundreds of outgoing links and your site that doesn’t have any page rank. High, wide, and handsome you exchange links, but actually you give more than you get.
Another very important attribute is relevancy of topics between your site and the one that links to you. If you sell cars and get link from cooking recipes website, in search engines eyes this link has no value. Most probably Google won’t index it or will ignore it later. The trick is to create valuable back-links that will get you closer to top and bring traffic.
